Eric Pedicelli is an award-winning film director and editor working in documentary and branded content. He is drawn to stories that can spark positive change. Eric’s feature-length directorial debut, Ask No Questions, has mesmerized viewers (including Ai Weiwei) since its critically acclaimed premiere at Slamdance in 2020.
Eric earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Documentary Editing in 2017 for his work on Black Code, directed by Nick de Pencier (Anthropocene, Manufactured Landscapes). Based on a book by Ron Deibert (founder of Citizen Lab), Black Code shines a light on the perils faced by activists and journalists in the digital age. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival before screening at Human Rights Watch Film Festivals around the world.
Eric advocates for positive social change through his films. Working with Save the Children in Ivory Coast, he helped raise awareness of the lack of bathrooms in high-schools and its impact on women’s education. Eric filmed in Nepal and India to highlight the work of Tibetan Monks who deftly circumvent censorship to contact sources in tightly controlled Tibet. While in Rio de Janeiro, Eric interviewed the Midia Ninjas whose fight for social justice is threatened by digital surveillance.
